What is this Lovely Fragrance?

$1.85 per copy*

This arrangement of the beautiful 17th C. French carol attempts to capture the transparency of its whimsical text. The poetic and symbolic idea of ‘fragrance’ is suggested by unison lines in the first two verses followed by ‘vaporous excursions’ in the organ/piano accompaniment. The last verse is warmed and enlarged to four parts then briefly six parts where the lyric points towards the personal response that must accompany our adoration: “Low at his feet we lay our treasure”. Overall, it is an easy teach, with careful part writing putting this arrangement within reach of most choirs.
